Damn You, Timothy Dalton

Okay, it's not his fault. But since I watched Jane Eyre with Timothy Dalton in it...I like his looks so much I went and borrowed all his movies my local library has. I have seven days to watch about 2 dozen movies. Unfortunately, I have forgotten about having five children in summertime is not exactly conducive to vegging out in front of the TV.

I used to be a non-TV person. In fact, I have to practically tie myself to a chair so I won't leave in the middle of a 30-minutes TV show. Then I got really sick after having my 5th child and have to be in bed for like 4 weeks. The TV is the most convenient entertainment after books. I got hooked into it. It's like some evil vortex which sucked me in and I haven't gotten out of the loop since.

Anyway back to Timothy Dalton. I forgot about my deadline, and then I forgot to fix it. By the time I noticed the dates...it's too late. I am in debt about 60 dollars for the movies.

Considering I borrow a lot of books from the library (upwards of 100 items a year), this is a pretty good deal. Still, it's the principle of the thing. Losing 60 bucks for being careless that way.

There's no other option now but to watch those damn movies. Oh boy. I am not supposed to use cuss words anymore because the little ones copies me very adroitly. I am trying to figure out if I can watch movie, listen to books on tape while balancing my finances at the same time. I so love multi-tasking, don't you?

  1. Midas, this is funny. I'm sorry that you got sick after the 5th one. It's the worst time esp you have an infant to take care of. I too had an infection when my baby was 2 weeks old - so I can picture what is was like for you.

  3. Hi, I am just passing through. I just wanted to say that I went through the same Timothy Dalton thing earlier this year. It took me three months to work through. I was almost through with it but then I made the "mistake" of renting The Doctor and the Devils. He was lethally handsome in that.

  4. Martisco, I am so glad you told me about that movie. I am going to rent or buy it...whichever is most expedient! He is a hottie huh?

  5. Yep. You know how he was pretty good looking until the early Eighties when he just turned into "OH MY GOD!" ? well, I think The Dr. and the Devils was his high water mark. (Not that he's bad looking today, but PHWOOOARR...)

  6. Hi there, from New Zealand, love your site. You are so right about Timothy Dalton. Some guys just get better as they age, a bit tougher for us girls. Also got hooked on his movies after purchasing Jane Eyre, for the story, not the actors. Have you seen him in Hot Fuzz, it is a hoot, but watch it more than once to get all the comedy lines.
